NYSOM is one of those tracks that gets better and better. To be honest, I never really liked the beat, so I often skipped it in my younger days. But it rewards the relistener.
It really pulls you in from the jump, I wouldn’t even trade it for a saner world. The song, not my documentary. If my ego goes that far, take me to a nice comedy farm upstate.
Early Nas is unbeatable. I'm an old head and a GZA Stan, but I'll happily accept Nas as the GOAT. His combination of talent, duration, consistent relevance -- he's amazing.
I just saw GZA in March!. He had a backing band and played Liquid Swords front to back. He's a legend. That whole era of New York boom bap is incredible.
Are you going? If it's the NY State of Mind tour, I saw it last year and it was incredible. Just Nas and Wu Tang switching on and off for 2.5 hours straight. I'm going again to see De La Soul.
“A groundbreaking Times column compared America to Rome.”
God bless you, DD.
I might edit them together into a supercut.

Just that whole album is amazing. I am also of the opinion if NaS’s follow up was trimmed to 10 tracks, it would be much more well-received.

That's awesome! I've never seen him live, though Wu-Tang's playing in Chicago this fall.

That's the one. I'm considering it, and I really have no excuse not to go, other than my children killing my vibe.
Some of my richest, whitest neighbors have been talking about getting VIP access, so I might try to ride that train.

I hear it'll be televised.
Lol wait the Proud Boys have a prison track? Is this as good as Jordan Peterson’s rock opera track about sheeple?
Can you imagine? I’d never frown again. Still, a 20 year sentence for a ringleader is a nice consolation prize.
All of you go watch Sword of the Stranger, right now!
I don't care when you're reading this!
