I'm still working my way through Everything Abridged. I'm reading it out of order, so I may never actually finish. Which is fine by me because I love it! Also, I'm glad I helped save America by purchasing your book. We've got to do something, right?
Jumping around out of order is one of the small joys of a collection. I'm glad it's working for you! If it weren't, I'd probably have to begin a long journey of redemption, and I don't really have the personal fiber for that. Thank you for the support!
Thanks for mentioning that you were rattled by the NYPD encounter. I was rattled reading about it. I had to look up "chicken winging." Really? That happened? So being rattled makes you human, not THAT ultra-cool. I guess if Adams or the Commissioner had called to apologize personally you would have mentioned it, not that it would have changed anything. WTF, NYC. Anyway I found out about your book through your "Timeline," and then Extra Evil, so there's that.
No problem. It happened, and I wasn't a happy camper. That said, the response to the article has been encouraging, from notes of support like yours to creatively spelled hate mail. A call from Eric might be nice, but I think I'd waste it asking his thoughts on Ligma.
I hope the book's treating you well! The reception there's been encouraging as well.
I devoured the book; it was delicious, every page. Only sharp humor with appropriate disdain for our predicament satisfies these days. The three bot collectives in Nero's head are the funniest non-human inventions since the foul-mouthed fairy in At Swim Two-Birds. I need to make new friends since most are unworthy of Abridged. Maybe I'll write a review on Amazon though (hastening to say) that isn't where I bought it.
I stumbled upon your newsletter via Situation Normal and am very happy about it. Bought your book yesterday at my independent bookstore in Chicago. Once I saw blurbs from Paul Beatty and Mateo Askaripour I was in. Hope to start reading soon and looking forward to following your work.

No journey of redemption needed, save the fiber for your cereal!

Thanks for trying it out! I promise it has the craziest ideas to spring out of my head yet.
