A crazed superfan alerted me to the sale of your book on Amazon. Sadly, I paid them their $5.99 shipping because I dumped Prime two years ago out of spite, and I'm not interested in rejoining. Hopefully I didn't offset their losses too much. Looking forward to reading. Hard covers rule.
Never saw that steep a discount on anything other than year-old calendars. I conveniently forgot to mention to friends that I hadn't paid the price on the dust jacket. Maybe I'll get a dinner invite or two, who knows?
Just went to Amazon and saw the price too. Wow. The House that Bezos built is definitely taking a haircut at that price. They're limiting me to four copies, so four it is.
Does a huge retail sale of Everything Abridged affect your bottom line? I've been buying discount copies on amazon (I have no conscience) and sending to friends I barely speak to. (I think retailers do that before they stock the paperback) I promise not to keep doing it if you suffer.
Presumably Amazon bought their copies in bulk at a pre-determined price and sent that revenue directly to the publisher. A fraction of that money then found its way into Dennard's checking account.
Any discounting Amazon's doing at this point likely means they're losing money on each copy you buy. My advice? Continue being a patriot. Think I'll pick up some copies myself.

All war against the Luthor cosplayer is admirable. Hope you love it!
Can't remember more ecstatic reviews for anything else, ever, if you noticed. Dennard had a way of convoking the true literati, us included, ahem.
And I only bribed half of them!

Jeff must have missed haircuts.

Discounts exist to be exploited, and spreading the word is always appreciated. Besides, my ego's way stronger than my wallet.

A much more insightful answer. Pretend I said this.
