You Need This

Meet Noah. And continuity.

At first, I assumed minimalist sketches were more approachable than concrete characters. I'm wrong all the time. It's crazy that I'm alive, really. This episode was an experiment, and I like the results. I almost called it "Repilot," but there are only six episodes before it.

Mayhem, Track II

A blooper from the 1900HOTDOG work. A paint pen opened up halfway through my mock ritual, leaving me with a janky portal to hell. Alas.

War Journal

Overheard, on Planet Coffee:

8 oz: “So you think there were no attractive people in the past?”

20 oz: “Yeah. People got hotter, just like they got smarter.”

8 oz: “I don’t think…either of those are things.”

20 oz: “The past didn’t have Jason Momoa.”

What do Brooklyn, NY students and Concord, NC retirees have in common? Dogs with crowns dyed to match their owners’ hair. Don’t ask me to divine meaning from that. Some things simply are.

Overheard, on Planet Coffee:

Apple: "I don't support violence. Except in this case, and a few others. A lot of them I guess."

Pastry: "Uh, right. Tonight we can watch The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants."

Apple:"I think about violence and nonviolence a lot, because it can go on for generations."

Pastry: "The movie's, like, perfect cringe nineties. But not from the nineties."

Civilization demands you learn to withstand, evade, or challenge stock topics. I’ve run out of “withstand” for thirty-something aging laments. I understand basic human anxiety, I'm not a total alien. But we need a third joke about not being the family baby anymore. People have aged and died for millennia, there must be something on a scroll or clay pot. I bet there were cave paintings with brilliant wit.

Begging various residencies/grants/gigs feels odd before the book. I don’t know if I’m headed for an execution or ego trip yet. I’m selling a mystery box.

From Review. The best show that hurts to watch.

The Present

The Past

Luigi's trial keeps pulling me back here.

The Future

On Monday, I'm kicking off a contest for the book. No combat involved, probably.

Not Brought to You By

Art's hard, and we all have icons. Spokespeople are a chance to connect your brand to the people, and maybe inspire a few on the way.

Headline: Her Singing Coach Advised a Light Smoke Subhead: Carol Lombard prefers Luckies because they're easier on her throat

If you're a nerd. We've got death sticks to sell wannabe popstars. Tip 1 to perfect vocals: try our brand of bass boost. You'll hold higher notes longer. See? Writers can type anything! It's like being God.

Anyway, Sanity's just one category. As for the rest, it's standard spokesperson use. E.g., a dull furnace for vast amounts of money.
