I learned that handy expression about not staring at a pot while it heats up, yet I still can't apply it three decades later. Whether it's a package, rec letter, or literal pot of simmering water. It's some kind of bloodborne disease, and I'm still waiting for a cure. Maybe if I watch a little more carefully...
Writing puts a fun tint on your social orbit. In one week you might learn your old history teacher has all your books, your best friend thinks you're a rapper, and your landlord thinks you're unemployed. Amusing times.
Overheard, at Mt. Coffee:
Country: How'd the massage go?
Pop: Awful. The language barrier is whatever, but the whole setup was weird.
Country: Oh?
Pop: Your guy wasn't there. This woman lead me in, then this new guy came in.
Country: Oh. Oh.
Pop: He started out fine, but then the aura felt off. Too much time on the back. The towel was, you know, scouring.
Country: What was his name?
Pop: Dunno. But he kept doing it. And I hated the towel. So I told him "Can you only touch my shoulders?" I think that took him back, and then he worried about the job, so it was worse.
Country: Sucks.
Pop: Super not pleasant.
Country: I know another spot, if you wanna try it out.
Pop: I'm gonna get more coffee.
Elsewhere, I've been unkind to Dave headlining Riyadh. I'll walk that back a bit. Tap dancing's black tradition, and it's important to preserve our whole history.
