Bit of context: I paint old article/prank/story topics on decks. Little bits of egotism keep me going. These were all 1900HOTDOG bounties:

It's as hard to explain as you'd imagine.

Fun fact: if your outlook improves while your environment implodes, you sound the same. Strange.

My new base is growing on me. There's a skate park in skate distance, which is great for people-watching. Or skating. I'll try that when I'm done exploiting warehouse and factory lots. They're right there.
I'm still no good, and that's the point. Minuscule moments of progression are like crack. Given the stakes around everything else, I treasure anything I'm allowed to suck at. I suspect that impulse keeps golf popular. Ten people alive are good at golf. The rest of us are there to watch, fill out tournament brackets, or fail.
Speaking of failure, I recall that the fancy skate woodshops are in Canada and Mexico. Games aren't my priciest hobby anymore.

If your metaphors feel strained, it's not you. You're just in the event things get compared to later.

In other bro news (it's for the best, "public intellectual" is a dark fate) I've almost finished a cut. Counting feels more manageable this round, thank to habit and/or madness. The issue is sleeping enough for it to matter. I don't know how anyone does it. Maybe PEDs are just horse tranquilizer.
Call it another entertaining failure. I'm not sure what the original goal was, but I like the seesaw.

One thought on Donnie. What's Kompromat on a convicted rapist look like? HD? Unflattering angles? A Zimmer score? That's going to be a wild week. Wilder.

I thought loft beds looked sketchy—gravity and all that. I was way off. It's building the loft that almost kills you.

The Future
Writing a bit about a grifter. Minor league, not federal. I also have a stray bonus post and book contest in the pipeline, I'm just short on time and oxygen. Baby steps.
Not Brought to You By
We took a while to master poisoning ourselves. Here's a feature we take for granted, presented as a scientific miracle:

Cans! Welcome to the new world. Canned beer's the first step toward the Jetsons. The wasteland beneath the glossy towers, not the sky-suburbs.
You may have noticed: even with space age cans, this angle's as boring as...a picture of a can. A lesson we still haven't absorbed: feature-first ads still should add something. A twist. A joke. Anything. Otherwise you end up with billboards saying "this toaster has AI" without a reason you should give a shit.
Well, they do add a bit of cowardice, by pointing out steins and taps are still in play. Can't frighten people, right? Cans could be a fad.
