Dayle's Charge
It's a wrap. Enjoy this curious graphic and tasteful offer for the last time:

Dayle's Charge Survivors still get half off my madness, forever.
War Journal
Dayle's Charge draws to a close! You laughed! I cried! How to Dodge A Cannonball drew crowds smarter than me! I couldn't ask for more.
Recap business soon. Leaning toward one of those fancy Expensive Evil posts, but we'll see. I'm sitting on a lot of photos and anecdotes, and evidently it's my job to comment on what's left of the country. Sprinting through the South with a Civil War book is simply a double shift.

Right, the Three Kingdoms update. Spoilers for a thousand year old book follow.
I think many of us grow up wanting to be Lu Bu. The problem is that you end up like Lu Bu.

To see a soul leave it's body, watch a Spirit Airlines clerk read out a seat upgrade pitch.

Vance has a fun wince. It shows what it's like to have your intellect, vitality, and moral consistency compared unfavorably to Mike Fucking Pence.

Not Brought to You By
Doctors, real or imagine, are a classic source of borrowed authority. In tonics, you don't blink at six out of five doctors cosigning Mammon's Lead Tablets. Leaving a small escalation problem. When doctor becomes static, who do you borrow authority from?

The crown, of course. What a silly question.
Allegedly, this is the secret sauce behind the Austrian, Russian, English, Saxon, and Italian thrones. Which either don't exist or look sickly at this point, so take that into account.
Sure, royal medicine doesn't mean much if you're opinionated about mercury or incest. But many people don't read anything. Monarchy depends on it, really.
The idea makes me smile, which has value. Especially since it's an eager lie. Knowing what pills a given royal chugs requires membership in an organization with a name like The Phoenix Consortium. And they're quite picky about privacy.
